OWPC Volunteer Opportunities:
1. Safety Marshals during practices times. Ideally we like to have 1-2 marshals on each course while athletes are at the pool.
2. Merchandise Committee. We'd love to have input from the kids and families on JOs Team T-shirts, additional items to offer on our team store and help working with KAP 7 for our suit orders.
3. Travel Committee. We are looking for volunteers who want to help with the following:
- Hotel options (2026 season). This is usually done in the winter or early spring prior to the season start.
- Team Parent Coordinator. Helps set up communications between families for JOs, might help coaches on team communication, helps coordinate snacks/drinks for games, ect.
- New to OWPC liaison. Be available to help answer basic questions about JOs, team gear, ect.
4. Fundraiser Committee. We are always looking for people who are interested in helping out with fundraising.
- Makahiki Tournament: Coordinate help with concessions, auction, raffle, ect.
- Other ideas
Let's face it, living in paradise comes at a great cost and putting our kids in organized club sports can be very expensive. Don't let the cost of the Olympic Development Program detour your child from this amazing opportunity, apply for financial assistance through USAWP. Follow the instructions on the provided link below.
We are stronger together
Coming together in Unity and Cooperation. Oʻahu Water Polo Club is proud to unite our local school and summer club programs to form the most competitive teams to represent our islands in competition. This philosophy is true for both our athletes and our coaching staff. Every year we aim to bring in new coaches to learn from our staff with collegiate and national team coaching experience; to give them experience and knowledge to bring back to their programs and grow the sport.
Oʻahu Water Polo Club was founded in 2018 to provide a unified Oʻahu based water polo program for all athletes regardless of their summer club and school affiliations. We stress the importance of teaching fundamental skills that can be implemented across all programs and at all levels. We believe the foundation of success in water polo is built with sound technical movements coupled with competitive swimming speed. As coaches we are committed to a positive environment and developing sportsmanship in athletes. We believe traveling competitive teams to National, Regional and other high-level tournaments is essential to developing our athletes and providing them opportunities to pursue water polo in college.
